Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 8 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Sfamily ("we", "us") for your use of SFamily. By creating an account you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the app.
SFamily is not an emergency service
This is the most important thing on this page.
SFamily helps the people you choose to look out for you. It does not summon police, an ambulance or a fire service, and nobody at SFamily is watching your alerts. In an emergency, call your local emergency number — 112 in India — first. Use SFamily to tell your family afterwards, not instead.
Safety features depend on things we do not control: your phone being on and charged, a working network, location being switched on, and the people you chose having their phones with them and noticing. An alarm can fail to ring, a message can fail to arrive, and a position can be out of date or wrong. Please do not build a plan around SFamily working when it matters most without a fallback that does not depend on a phone.
Who may use SFamily
- You must be able to enter a binding agreement where you live.
- A child's account must be created and supervised by their parent or legal guardian, who accepts these terms on the child's behalf and is responsible for who can see that child's location.
- You must give us accurate details, and keep your phone number up to date — it is how you sign in and how we reach you.
Your account
You sign in with your phone number and a one-time code. Anyone holding your phone and your number can reach your account, so keep both secure and lock your device. Tell us at ownerabhi@sfamily.co if you think somebody else has got in.
You are responsible for what happens on your account.
Location, and consent
This app can show people where you are. That makes the following non-negotiable:
- Only add people who know they are being added, and only share your location with people you want to have it.
- Never use SFamily to track an adult who has not agreed to it. Monitoring a partner, a relative or anyone else without their knowledge is a serious misuse of this app and may be a criminal offence where you live.
- Sharing is always yours to stop. Nobody can make you share, and nobody is told when you stop.
We will close accounts used to monitor people without their consent.
What you may not do
- Harass, threaten, impersonate or endanger anyone.
- Raise false alarms or false SOS alerts.
- Upload anything unlawful, or anything sexual involving a minor — this we report.
- Upload content you do not have the right to share.
- Attempt to break, overload or reverse-engineer the service, or access somebody else's account or data.
- Use the app for anything illegal.
Your content
What you post stays yours. You give us only the permission we need to operate the app: to store your content and show it to the people you have chosen, according to your privacy settings. We do not use it for advertising and we do not sell it.
We may remove content that breaks these terms, and may suspend or close an account that does so repeatedly or seriously.
Availability
We work to keep SFamily running, but we do not promise it will be available without interruption. Features may change, and some may be withdrawn. The app is provided as it is, without warranties beyond those the law gives you and does not let us exclude.
Paid features
Some features may be offered as a paid subscription. If you buy one through an app store, that store handles the payment, the renewal and the refund, under its own terms. Prices and what is included may change, and we will tell you before a change affects you.
Ending it
You can delete your account at any time from Menu → Settings → Delete account; see Delete Your Account for exactly what happens.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that is used to monitor somebody without their consent, or where we are required to by law.
Our liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, nor for harm arising from the app failing to deliver an alert, a message or a location — which is why the first section of these terms asks you not to rely on it as an emergency service. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms materially, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect. Continuing to use SFamily after that means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION], and the courts of [JURISDICTION] have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
